The Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run is the place to be this

The Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run is the place to be this Sunday!!

The Jetty 2 Jetty is an annual running event at Woody Point in Redcliffe, Queensland with a 21km half marathon and 3km, 5km & 10km fun run/walk events.

All events start at Crockatt Park, following the waterfront North, before looping back at the half way point to the start/finish area. Each event has a different turnaround point.

Moreton Bay Road Runners will be volunteering out on course, at the finish line, as pacers, giving out registration bibs at Rebel and at the registration tent and more on Sunday.

Moreton Bay Road Runners are so proud of all of their members who took part in the Gold Coast Marathon weekend recently.

We had runners in the half marathon, marathon, 10km and even some of the kids took part in the 2km dash.

PB's were smashed, fun was had and the community spirit where everyone champions each other was certainly there.

Congratulations to June MBRR Member of the Month,

Congratulations to June MBRR Member of the Month, Steve Harris, who celebrated in style Saturday 3rd June at Sandgate reaching a milestone 500 parkruns.

Members of our Club surprised Steve with a large group to cheer Steve on-course and at the finish (time 24:32).

Sandgate is Steve's local where he has completed 282 runs.

Runners enjoyed fresh baked Banana Cake compliments of his wife, Elaine.

Last Sunday Moreton Bay Road Runners had their June Time Trial at Redcliffe. There were so many smiling faces enjoying the beautiful weather to be running/walking 10km or 5km.

Breakfast was provided and as usual filled up those hungry bellies.

COACH GEOFF says:

Any run started, should be done slowly. It is about getting the heart rate up to your normal rate for running. This slow running is increased gradually, and will depend on what type of running you are doing.

Generally to keep your body in prime shape and without getting any injuries, or at least reducing your injuries, you must warm up and then start you runs slowly, building up to the pace that most of your run is.

This week we are celebrating Terry Logan for completing 100 different parkruns (he has completed 324 in total).

He participated in his 💯th at The Beaches in Newcastle. An all beach run parkrun. Quite the experience running a parkrun with no shoes when for a Queenslander is was very cool 🥶.

It was a great turnout for the 25km, 10km and 5km run/walk.

Moreton Bay Road Runners have proudly run the Jetty 2 Jetty since 1986. Held each July this event attracts almost 5,000 competitors across the 21km/10km/5km/3km distances. This years J2J is on Sunday 16th July.
